How to Get a Good Night’s Sleep in the Heat

Take a cool shower before you go to bed to lower your body temperature. To keep cool while you sleep on hot evenings, damp a towel, roll it up and put it in the freezer. Just before you go to bed, place it underneath your bed sheet.

Nap for no more than 30 minutes for an effective natural boost of daytime energy, ideally between 12 noon and 3pm. Research shows that taking a power nap can increase alertness levels by 100 per cent for up to four hours afterwards.
