Want To Stop Snoring?
Parade reports on expert-backed solutions for simple snoring, including treating allergies, limiting alcohol consumption, and exercise.
If you sleep on your back or stomach and tend to snore, see what happens if you sleep on your side. “The airway is most likely to collapse when you’re lying on your back. This is why people who snore often get an elbow in their side from their spouse, encouraging them to roll over on the side,” explains Jacob Teitelbaum, M.D, a board certified internist.
If you are a regular back sleeper, Teitelbaum suggests putting a tennis ball in a baggie and pinning it to the small of the back of a snug shirt. “This makes it uncomfortable to lie on your back, and will naturally cause you to sleep on your side,” he says.
